At first it might be hard.
If you’re doing it right, you’re going against the perception of what a PAO is supposed to do. You’re fighting years of experience your peers and bosses have about PAOs.
If you’re doing it right, you don’t sit quietly in the corner and only break glass in case of emergency.
If you’re doing it right, you’re doing more important things than taking pics of cake cutting ceremonies.
You might offer your opinion about operations because operations have the potential to effect your organization’s reputation.
You might attend a meeting you weren’t invited to.
You might not attend a meeting you were expected to because it has nothing to do with the mission.
Some people might think you should act the way they think a PAO should act. You might make some people uncomfortable.
You might not fit in at first.
That’s ok. You will.
