Let’s talk about how the right amount of background and context can make or break your communication.
My kid’s school letter is Q this week. Last night, we observed that “quarantine” (in the news) starts with Q.
Yikes. How do you explain the concept of “quarantine” to a preschooler? They may not have the background or context to connect contagious sickness, germs, social policies and isolation. Her closest point of reference is probably a cold! That’s a contagious sickness, should we lock people down for that?
Who’s listening to you and what do they already know? Your audience may only understand “quarantine” and “queen” start with the same letter.
PAO, are you prepared to fill in all the gaps after that?
