Since the quarantine, I’ve started riding my wife’s Peloton Bike more often. It’s a good addition to my overall fitness program – gives my knees a break from running and I get a good sweat.
The whole Peloton thing is a cool concept. I ride with other riders across the world, in real-time. I’m competitive so I compete with these other riders. I imagine they compete with me too.
The classes can be physically brutal. Spin classes are hard but especially hard when your stats are tracked so closely.
By tapping the screen on the other rider’s profile, you can give the other riders a virtual high-five.
Aside from having to reach up and tap the screen, the high-five is free. You can give as many as you want.
The high-five is both an acknowledgment of the suck we are all in (together) and a little inspiration to keep going, finish the class strong – it’s a mini-congratulations to the others riding with you.
Life and work can be as fun and hard as a Peloton Class. Do you give high-fives? I’m not talking about meaningless attaboys, I’m talking about acknowledging your co-workers, subordinates, and superiors accomplishments – even the small ones?
You should. It’ll help everyone get through this ride.
Now go and do likewise.
